Asian Women of Winnipeg (AWOW) is proud to launch the “Manitoba’s Accessible Celebrations Initiative: Tools and Training for Barrier-Free Events.”

This project, supported by the Manitoba Accessibility Fund, is dedicated to making cultural events across Manitoba more inclusive, accessible, and welcoming—for everyone.

Whether you're an event organizer, volunteer, venue host, or community member living with a disability, this is your space to learn, share, and lead the way toward more equitable celebrations. See Press Release.

Workshop #1: Understanding Disability

The first workshop of Manitoba's Accessible Celebrations Initiative, organized by the Asian Women of Winnipeg Inc. In this video, we dive deep into the topic of "Understanding Disability" with our guest speakers, Peter Tonge and Janelle Marie. This session provides essential tools and training for creating barrier-free events and inclusive spaces for everyone in our community.

Workshop #2: Accessible Documents & Registrations​

In this workshop, we dive deep into the topic of "Accessible Documents and Registrations" with our guest speakers, Peter Tonge and Tanis Woodland. This session provides essential tools and training for creating barrier-free events and inclusive spaces for everyone in our community.​

Workshop #3: Accessible Events & Meetings

In this workshop, we dive deep into the topic of "Accessible Events and Meetings” with our guest speaker Peter Tonge. This session provides essential tools and training for creating barrier-free events and inclusive spaces for everyone in our community.

Workshop #4: Belonging is Built
